About Us 2018-08-21T21:20:09+00:00

Kidesign is a London-based creative studio specialising in educational games, toys and activities for children. The company was founded by Dejan Mitrovic, a design engineer who wanted to offer something meaningful and inspirational to today’s children, by joining his great passion for creative education and his skills and experience in product design. Kidesign’s mission is to inspire the next generation of problem solvers and equip them with creativity and imagination.

What started off as a Masters project at the Royal College of Art, focusing on teaching children about design, has developed into a business with different creative strands. A lot has changed since then, but the vision remains the same – to make the world a better place through creativity. Since starting in 2010, we have worked with thousands of kids, hundreds of schools and all major museums and galleries in the UK and beyond. Our projects approach this objective in different ways, some are focused on learning through play in non-educational environments (at home or at events), whilst other are gamifying education and school projects. Some teach tangible STEM skills through 3D computer software and new technologies, and others aim to develop kids’ soft skills such as constructive thinking and imagination.

Over the years we have been developing different projects including: a range of creative workshops for children and young adults (at places like the British Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Design Museum, etc); a curricular game for schools about architecture, 3D design and 3D printing – Kideville; creative den-building toys for young kids that inspire offline play and imagination – Densters; and a variety of projects developed in partnership with other companies and organisations (eg. Build Your Own Pavilion with Serpentine Galleries, school 3D printing curriculum with Makerversity, 3D design workshops with AirBnb and more). Our work covers different age ranges from 3+ (Densters toys), 9-12 (Kideville game), 7-11, 12-15 & 16-19 (creative workshops) and even adults (courses through AirBnb, General Assembly, etc).

One thing is for sure, we will keep creating new projects until our mission is complete, but as the world around us is changing so much and so quickly, there will always be a need for more creativity, more imagination and therefore more Kidesign. So follow us for new and exciting projects!

“You can’t use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have.” – Maya Angelou
